Extech is proud to be a judge at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards

We passionately believe delivering customer delight is the key difference between good and great businesses. It is the key ingredient for retaining long-term relationships with your customers and attracting new clients. We look forward to meeting businesses within the region who can demonstrate experience of consistently exceeding customer expectations in order to deliver world class customer service and delight, which is why we are judging this category. The winner will have the desire to go that extra mile in order to encourage advocacy and loyalty for the brand/service. Extech Racing

At the start of 2014, Extech Racing started supporting an enthusiastic Louis Horsley with his kart racing as he moved up from a promising start in the Bambino, entry level class to the very competitive Honda Cadet Clubman class. Louis had just turned 8 at this time and started participating in meetings at the Bayford Meadows circuit in Sittingbourne and the Lydd circuit in Romney Marsh.

Louis attended the monthly meetings at each circuit (2nd & 4th weekends in the month) for both the Saturday testing and Sunday races and spent most of 2014 both learning the circuits and developing his race craft and toward the end of 2014 was finishing regularly at the front of the grid with several podiums with the first win beckoning!

Louis continued to progress very well at the Lydd circuit, finishing 6th in the summer 2014 championship and 3rd in the 2014/2015 winter championships. The start of 2015 saw Louis’ first win that continued throughout the summer 2015 championship where Louis completely dominated taking 15 wins out of the 18 races and the championship with one round to spare! Throughout 2015, Louis’ younger brother Marco (7) also started competing in the Bambino karting class and he too progressed well and by the end of the year had several podium finishes included his first win.

The racing weekends are supported by the complete family, staying overnight in the trusty old camper van, with Dad providing mechanical services and support with Mum providing healthy, balanced catering throughout the weekend. Louis and Marco are also part of the Ambition Motorsport team (www.ambitionmotorsport.com) that provide support and tuition throughout the racing weekends that greatly assists with the young driver’s development.

Louis has now moved up to the faster and even more competitive Honda Cadet class and is already at the front of the grid at Lydd taken his first win at the end of 2015, with Bayford Meadows race meetings starting in February 2016. Marco is continuing to battle at the front of the Bambino class and will be looking forward to testing a Honda Cadet Clubman later on in the year!
